Care organization Topaz is getting a beautiful nursing home in Katwijk. Location Overduin is located on the edge of the Zuidduinen in Katwijk aan Zee and is specifically designed for people with dementia, Huntington’s disease and Korsakov.
The main building is being thoroughly renovated. This will house the common facilities for all Overduin residents, such as the offices and treatment and activity rooms. A new chapel will also be built in this part of the building. This renovation will be completed first. A number of features from the buildings to be demolished will be placed herein to enable the demolition of the buildings. The residents of these buildings will be temporarily transferred to other locations in the region. The renovation will be completed in mid-2022.
The new building is a new, modern residential facility specifically for residents with Huntington’s disease. Both building parts are connected by the new construction of a welcoming entrance with restaurant.
The goal is to have the 80 new homes on the edge of the Katwijk dunes ready for use by 2024.
Stevens Van Dijck is responsible for project and design management (from the VO phase to TO), supervising tender procedures and management.
Topaz has 9 different locations region Leiden. Each location has its own character. Location Overduin accommodates 190 residents with dementia, Huntington’s disease and Korsakov. Its location, small size and many facilities make it a pleasant place to stay.
The intervention provides residents with more spacious rooms with private bathrooms. There will also be a new restaurant between the new building and the main building and the building will soon meet sustainability requirements.
Care organization Topaz provides intensive care to people who need it. People who can no longer live independently, or who need temporary support due to illness and/or old age.
