In 2017, De Nederlandsche Bank (The Dutch National Bank) decided to renovate its headquarters and relocate the gold and cash to a newly constructed Cash Center. The DNB Cash Center is a highly secure building specifically designed for the storage of gold and money.
In the DNB gold vault, there are 14,000 gold bars, each weighing 12.5 kilograms, as well as a thousand crates of gold coins, along with a substantial supply of banknotes and euro coins. From the Cash Center, DNB supplies banknotes and coins to value transporters, who then distribute them to banks, ATMs, and stores. The DNB Cash Center also houses a large sorting hall, where experts examine and record counterfeit banknotes.

Due to the confidential nature of the project, a strict protocol was in place to ensure the confidentiality of the information. The building is highly sustainable, and careful consideration has been given to its integration into the environment, which holds significant ecological value.”
