TU Delft is currently constructing a new sustainable and circular educational building for the benefit of various educational functions. The educational spaces are intended to be used by multiple faculties and are also flexible in use. With the development of the generic education building, TU Delft is working on the realization of an inspiring, future-proof and sustainable education building on the south of the campus. This building is intended for all students of the campus, but especially for those of the faculties in the Kluyver area.
The Generic Education Building is an interfaculty building. Especially the Engineering Science and Aerospace studies will use this building. It will have lecture halls, study areas and a catering facility.
In addition to being a functional building, the Generic Education Building must also be a very sustainable building. High ambitions have been set in terms of energy consumption, aiming for an energy-generating character, and circularity, with a focus on disassembly and the use of existing materials from donor buildings. In addition, the aim is to obtain the highest possible BREEAM label, with at least the classification ‘BREEAM Excellent’.
