At Schiphol Logistics Park, the new logistics center for Expeditors International B.V. was completed in late 2017. A brand new office with a total area of 7,795 sq. ft. The building includes a 3-story office building including a company restaurant and several meeting and training rooms. There is a new 36,000 sq. ft. warehouse with a TCA (temperature controlled area) of about 2,700 sq. ft. and a mezzanine. A 2-story, 9,000-square-foot parking garage has also been constructed on the site totaling 70,000 square feet.
There was an Engineer & Construct contract form based on the UAV-GC for which Stevens Van Dijck handled the entire tender. In execution, we were responsible for process and quality assurance.
The design by DP6 architecture studio focused on a flexible layout with meeting rooms adjacent to the atrium and a company restaurant with access to the roof terrace. The use of wooden wall coverings, wooden facades and many windows gave the office a transparent and warm look. The building is in use as a central distribution center for Northwest Europe. Expeditors International B.V. is an international logistics company headquartered in Seattle, USA.
The client’s ambition was realized with the achievement of BREEAM Very Good certification. An early case study was made for this purpose. Stevens Van Dijck has been involved in the feasibility phase, design phase and implementation as project manager.
