Eelco Braakman

Project Manager
“The success of a project is the success of its people. 1+1=3. Adding value together in any situation makes the greater success.”
In my work, the greatest satisfaction is to make everyone in the project grow. Personally, professionally, as a team and in the project. Delivering a great result for the client, and adding value for everyone. For some, it is discovering new techniques; for others, it is seeing an unknown partnership come into being. No matter who you work for and what your role is, growth is everywhere. When we look back at the end of the project and everyone has grown and is proud of what we were able to contribute, I derive maximum satisfaction from that.

What building would you really like to think about again?

Amsterdam’s central station: the perfect mix between public, business, infra, technology, architecture, business security, visibility location, public opinion. The biggest challenge of such a building is precisely in the parts no one sees. Migrating the technical infrastructure while keeping (part of) the building functioning is always the biggest challenge. Thinking about phasing, limiting impact on NS operations and businesses present, logistical flows of construction and the public. The ultimate puzzle of a construction project in a beautiful iconic building. Further enhance the historic value while achieving a modern functioning station.
