Cultural center Nieuwe Nobelaer is unique in the Netherlands. With performing arts, a library and arts education under one roof. The housing was outdated and the functionality no longer matched current requirements and ambitions. Therefore, it was decided to construct new construction. Stevens Van Dijck was responsible for construction management and organizing the tender with the municipality.
The cultural center houses a theater, library, music spaces and hospitality. The theater has 500 seats with a telescopic grandstand. There are also several music rooms and a dance studio.
An important function in the building is the “living room,” the dynamic heart of the accommodation designed for daytime catering, performances and exhibitions, among other things. This contributes to its function as a meeting place. Key concepts are experience, dynamism, transparency, sightlines and a high-quality residential environment.
