In Breda, 230 housing units, commercial spaces and underground parking facilities were built in three phases. The project was an initiative of Dura Vermeer of Rosmalen, and is divided into 3 blocks. Block A was designed by DAT Architects, Block B by Hooper Architects and Block C by Ector Hoogstad Architects.
Stevens Van Dijck was responsible for the management and supervision of Phase 1.
Phase 1 is the westernmost part of the project and consists of Block A, Block B1 and the underground parking garage.
The project, located in the 1930s neighborhood of Belcrum, which is close to the completely renovated Breda train station, has a complex urban setting with its attendant realization challenges. Because the series of buildings is regularly broken for a cross street to the Belcrum, the image remains modest. It is a long ribbon from the new Playhouse Square to the sloop harbor in the Mark.
